Arugam Bay Beach
Arugam Bay Beach is the Main Beach. The beach remains crowded, both with foreign travelers and local visitors. Most of the travelers spend their time on this relaxing and sunbathing on this beach. Elephant Rock Beach
Some 8 KM Arugam Bay lies Elephant rock Beach. And Elephant rock Beach houses best surfing point in Arugam. The waves here are very good for both beginner and advanced surfer. Elephant Rock Beach is also the best to place to relax and chill during the day time. Also, you can go for lagoon safari where you can see some birds and crocodiles.
Elephant Rock Beach is also a famous place to see the sunset.
Muhudu Maha Vihara
Lies in the town of Pottovil some 3 KM away from Arugam. It is a site of Buddha stupa some 2000-year-old.
Kumana National Park
Some 30 KM south of Arugam Bay lies Kumana National Park. Kumana National park is the eastern part of Yala National Park. In Kumana National park one can see herds of Elephant in their natural habitat and if lucky, one can also see Leopard. There are numbers of wildlife Safari organizer who organizes a safari to Kumana National Park for around $30. And their offices are spread all across the Main Road of Arugam.
